We got tired of missing things.
EmailOwl started as a private tool for one over-loaded set of inboxes — a business account, two personal ones, and a school that sends everything by email. It worked. So we built it properly, for everyone else drowning in the same pile.
Filters sort mail. They don’t do the thinking.
Rules and folders move messages around. They can’t tell you that the consent form is due Wednesday, or that the client who matters is waiting.
Every inbox tool we tried asked the same thing of us: read it all yourself, just in a tidier order. The work — deciding what matters, working out what it means, and doing something before the deadline — was still ours.
So EmailOwl doesn’t organise your email. It reads it, on a schedule, across every account you have, and hands you a short list of what actually needs you, with the date already pulled out and AI help to draft the reply.
And it’s honest about how. Triage means an AI reads your mail — that’s the job. What we’ve built is the choice of whose account it runs under: your Claude subscription, or your own Anthropic API key, called from your device. We never store your emails — only the board we build from them, so it can follow you between devices.
Three things we won’t trade away
Claim only what ships
No invented capabilities, no “military-grade” theatre. If a feature is on the roadmap, we say so on the page. If an AI reads your mail, we say which one and under whose account.
Your data, your key, your call
Your mailboxes connect by OAuth, your key stays in your device’s Keychain and EmailOwl keeps no copy of it, and the memory it builds of your world belongs to you. There is no EmailOwl copy of your inbox.
Fewer things, sooner
The measure isn’t how much it processed. It’s how few things reached you, how early they reached you, and how little you had to do about them.
We read every message.
